The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Brendan Smith TD today announced details of innovation funding for small Irish companies in the food industry. Innovation Vouchers worth €5,000 each are available to all small companies in the food sector over the next 6 weeks. The deadline for applications is 20th August 2010.

The Enterprise Bus

The Enterprise Bus comes to Kerry on 24th May!!!

An opportunity to ask questions, source information and meet CEB staff at venues throughout the county.

Kerry County Enterprise Board in conjunction with Bank of Ireland, is bringing the Enterprise Bus to Kerry from the 24^th to the 28^th May 2010. The Enterprise Bus is a national initiative aimed at people who wish to start up their own business or people with small businesses.

We will park the bus for half a day in different locations around the county in a prominent location so that people can come on to the bus and avail of generic financial information and business advice. The bus will be staffed by members of Kerry County Enterprise Board and members of Bank of Ireland's advisory team. It is also intended to have a wide range of enterprise materials from a number of agencies displayed on the bus for people's perusal

Broadband Provision

Jimmy Denihan, TD, is organising a seminar on Broadband provision in Kerry at the Carlton Hotel, Tralee on Monday May 10th at 8pm. The main providers of Broadband in the Kerry area will make short presentations on their current provision of Broadband in the county, their future plans to improve this service, and if there are any obstacles preventing the implementation of their plans.

Kieran Murphy of Murphy's Ice Cream, based in Killarney and Dingle has been awarded the 2009 "Food Hero Award", which is one of two exciting new awards offered by Kerry County Enterprise Board (CEB) for this year's Listowel Food Fair. The "Food Hero Award" and the "Emerging Food Award" were launched on Friday 6th November at the Listowel Arms Hotel as part of this year's Listowel Food Fair.
