The core business of the Revenue Commission is the assessment and collection of taxes and duties, which includes administering the regime for the control of imports and exports and collection of duties and levies on behalf of the EU. Collection of PRSI for the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs is also part of the Revenue’s remit.

The Revenue On-Line service is an internet facility which provides customers with a quick and secure facility to file tax returns, pay tax liabilities by laser card, debit instruction or online banking and access their tax details as well as calculating tax liability or claiming repayments.
