The services of the Enterprise Board are focused on small businesses with the potential to employ up to ten people. The Board aims to provide a single point of contact for all the information you need for your business, through financial assistance, advice and training supports. Some grant aid assistance is available to qualifying businesses.

Individuals or businesses can be provided with an experienced mentor or temporary advisor to help to identify problems and areas for improvement and to suggest solutions and assist in drawing up an action plan. Areas of involvement typically include general management, financial structuring, production planning, marketing, distribution, corporate organisation and strategic planning.

The Start Your Own Business programme, which runs for eight sessions, is very popular and available in Cahersiveen, Kenmare, Killarney, Killorglin and Tralee. In 2009, the Grow Your Business programme has been launched. A series of one-day financial training workshops is also available. Other programmes include Developing a Sustainable Food Business and Developing a Sustainable Sea Food Business, Gift Business Development, Idea Generation workshops and Tech Check (examining technology use in your business).

The Kerry Enterprise Network and Kerry Businesswomen’s Network each meet regularly in Killarney or Tralee and offer relevant presentations as well as an opportunity to meet other people in business.
