Kerry County Enterprise Board today launched it’s Innovative Business Fund and has issued a call for proposals to qualifying businesses.
“This fund is directed at innovation in new and expanding businesses who can demonstrate sustainability and employment potential” stated Tomás Hayes, CEO, Kerry County Enterprise Board Ltd.
“The Board is looking for projects with experienced management, a unique concept or idea, strong growth potential, healthy and realistic financial projections and “fast mover” advantage. Types of businesses include innovative services and new product development, food processing, product fabrication/manufacturing, product assembly and added value, recycling, the innovative energy sector and internationally traded services or those with the potential to trade internationally” he added
“The Board is not seeking projects which will lead to displacement of other businesses or replicate existing services” he emphasised.
Tomás Hayes, CEO of the Kerry County Enterprise Board Ltd. “The Innovation Fund has resulted from prudent financial management of limited resources over the past number of years where the Board adopted a policy of repayable grants at very favourable interest rates. The Board has now received over €150,000 in payback funding from existing clients and this funding is being released as part of the Innovation Fund. Funding will continue to be recycled as part of our brief to attain the maximum usage and benefit”
“I call on those businesses or potential businesses who meet the criteria to get their business proposals with business plans to our office by the deadline of 27th August 2010. The fund specifically applies to projects from non Gaeltacht areas but referrals will be made to our sister enterprise development agencies”
“Queries or clarification will be provided by our office. Application forms are available on our website with additional tools to assist completion of a solid business proposal under the Resources Section on our website www.kerryenterprise.ie”
Further information and advisory support on application completion can be obtained by contacting Victor Sheahan or Tomás Hayes at the offices of the Kerry County Enterprise Board Ltd on 066 718522 or by e mailing kerryceb@kerrycoco.ie.
