Kerry CEB endeavours to foster an entrepreneurial environment whereby more and more people will consider self employment as a career option. In pursuit of this objective the Board has identified an interactive Enterprise Initiative for primary and secondary schools nationwide. This initiative gives students the opportunity to take a business from idea stage through to generating a profit. The learning outcomes are significant in that it educates students about the realities of setting up and running a business.
Students are also given the opportunity to showcase their product/service and participate in the County Student Enterprise Awards. County winners are then invited to the National Enterprise Awards, organised annually by the County & City Enterprise Boards. This programme presents all participating schools with an excellent opportunity to integrate the spirit of enterprise in schools nationally.
