Micro-trade

The MicroTrade Programme aims to promote cross border trade and business co-operation specifically within the micro-enterprise sector. The programme came about as a result of a three-way partnership between InterTradeIreland, the County and City Enterprise Boards (Republic of Ireland) and Enterprise Northern Ireland, the umbrella body of the 32 Local Enterprise Agencies in NI.

The programme offers a range of supports direct to micro-enterprises interested in exploring all-island trade and co-operation. These include:

  • A series of major all-island networking events for micro-enterprises (typically 1-10 employees)
  • A support programme for businesses tendering for contracts on a cross-border basis
  • Funding for pairings or groups of businesses engaged in joint business development projects
  • Funding for companies seeking to export on a cross-border basis for the first time

MicroTrade has recently started Phase 2 of its programme and is keen to hear from companies looking to develop cross-border trade.

Please contact us if there is a particular sector that you think should be developed or if you have any queries on our existing networking and funding programmes.
